Children of War

 

This is our Damascus light

Fragile bodies pave our road

To illumine the souls darker night

Innocence explodes

 

Children are the parchment

On which God writes his word

And every gory imprint

Is read but seldom heard

 

Be silent the awful litany

I don’t think God silent now

Screams a centuries symphony

He speaks through bloodied mouths.
